ESOL Training Starts Friday, May 17, 10 a.m.
Central has received a grant from Congregational Vitality to provide summer English classes for adults and a literacy program for their children in the eastside community.
ESOL classes for speakers of other languages will begin June 14 and are scheduled for Friday mornings, 10 a.m.-noon, through Aug. 9, except on July 5. The first training class will be held Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m.
Volunteers are needed with children's activities of literacy classes, devotional/Bible time, recreation and snacks as well as for the adult classes. Contact Pastor Susan Webster at 704-242-0914 or call the church office if interested.
United Methodist Women Banquet May 19
Women will meet for a covered dish meal at 6 p.m. The Men's Chorus from St. Mark's UMC will present a musical program. All women of the church are invited.
Game Nights
Join church members and guests for games nights in the fellowship hall to benefit vairous church missions. Bring your favorite game, supper and enthusiasm. Dessert and drinks will be provided.

Faith, Family & Freedom event June 22
The youth are planning on attending the Faith, Family and Freedom even sponsored by 91.9 radio June 22 at Z-Max Dragway. Tickets are $5. Adults are welcome to attend with the youth. Let Christy Bost or Vern Anderson know if you are interested in attending.
